this guy builds model size cities and take photographs that look so real it hurts to look at them all.  i have no idea how he has the patience, but this is very impressive.  i guess he is a professional in the film industry or something?  it’s called ‘city shrinker’…link

holy poo.  this is an amazing german forklift training video.  seems normal and kinda funny for the first few minutes, then goes absolutely nutz with blood and violence.  has to be a spoof, or does it?

i hadn’t seen this cook bike tower in japan yet.  i have seen some renderings of car towers that work in a similar fashion, but this looks to be up and running.  pretty sweet.

oh crap. a thirteen year old german school boy recently CORRECTED NASA on the probability that a giant asteroid would impact earth. nasa had published the 1 in 450,000 number and this kid corrected them while doing research for a science project, saying it was more like 1 in 450! read the depressing article here.

i have little faith in this type of flight….buuut… how cool would it be to relax, catch a show, get a few drinks and sleep on a cozy bed….then wake up at your destination?  see video and more pics after the link.

at first glance, this sounds amazing.  glass window panes using dye solar cells (DSC) to convert direct and overcast sunlight into energy.  these windows replace current windows and are cheaper to manufacture than silicon solar cells.  this allows an architect to be very efficient with space and transforms the least energy efficient aspect of a building into an energy-generating system.  uh…then you look at the window design.  doesn’t look much different than putting a regular silicon panel on your window.  they are developing different colors (grey, blue) but i was imagining an even tint of color, not strips like this.  maybe someday.  oh, btw, dyesol is the company.
